Who here has pet insurance for their cats? Do they pay for vet bills? what are the benefits?

-Pet insurance is something to be carefully evaluated, based on your feelings and tolerance for risk.

And know what the policy covers, and what it doesn't, and how it is paid. The link I am providing is a good summary of what to consider.

I have multiple cats, and insurance coverage on all of them is just simply too expensive, and some could not be covered anyway, due to their age.

Insurance companies are not out to lose money, so you don't get insurance thinking you may come out ahead. You also hope to not need it.Pet insurance is something to be carefully evaluated, based on your feelings and tolerance for risk.

And when I took my dog to the ER once, she broke a leg and needed a cast I payed about 4 figures because it was 3am in the morning and emergency. Pet insurance costs more years and does not cover little things. If your pet is sick and you think it will be needing surgery then go for the insurance otherwise it's a lot of money for nothing. This is what I think anyway!
It would be smarter to put the amount you would pay in premiums in a separate account and keep it there just for vet bills. You will have total control of the money and can pay for whatever your pet needs.
