Best reptile to get for a beginner?

-Hey people. So here's the situation my 15th birthday is on sunday and I want to get a reptile. So seeing as i'm only 15 years old i am only aloud up to category 2 reptiles at the moment, so i'm going to get either a gecko or a lizard. At the moment I'm thinking about getting the bearded dragon. Though i would like your opinion on what kind of first reptile i should get.

Thanks in Advance :)For a class 1 (you must be 18 to have a class 2 and 2 years experience keeping class 1 license animals. You must be 16 or older to have a class 1 so I am assuming your parents are applying for the license) I would think a knob tail gecko would be your best choice as a first easy lizard. Probably a Centralian Knob-tailed Gecko (Nephrurus amyae) as it is the largest and hardiest of the species and probably the easiest of the animals I would recommend to maintain. If you want something larger then I would go with the Eastern Bearded Dragon (Pogona barbata) but the husbandry and time to maintain them properly is greater. Blue tongue skink (T. scincoides scincoides) would be my next recommendation. These may be one of the few lizards that are better suited for pets than the Inland bearded dragon (Pogona vitticeps).get a bearded dragon. I have one and he is so easy to care for! I love him! I have known many people with bearded dragons and they all say they are the best! The only thing is Bearded dragons love attention. I love that bc if i have a hard day at school i just vet to Cupid... and it looks like he really is listening(tho hes not he probably thinking kay shut up and take me out of my cage already) you just feed him once every other day when they are babies and everyday when they are adults. You pray them with water everyday and keep a heat light on(try in keep it around 85-90*) during the day... and make sure you change in the bathroom...they like to watch.
You're 15 years old, you are by far old enough to own a pet. If you want something interesting get a snake, but then some would say snakes are increddibly boring. I find them fascinating however, since they shed their skin.

However you do need a licence for them, and I'm not sure if you need to be a certain age to get it.

As for your question, I'd recommend a lizard, I had a pet one of those when I was 5... :P
If you want physical interaction with them, then definitely the dragon over any geckos as a first time reptile. Geckos aren't really happy being handled.
i would say for lizards, gecko or a bearded dragon, an for snakes, ball python or a corn snake, there all friendly n good type of beginner reptiles, good luck
Bearded dragons are usually very even-tempered, but I would suggest these for a beginner:

leopard gecko

crested gecko

house gecko

tropical lizard

Good luck!
anoles,geckos,water dragons, bearded dragons,leopard gecko,
