-my rottweiler is 5 weeks old. I got her when she was 4 weeks old because unfortunately her mother was killed. I know you should take a puppy home when it is at least 6 weeks old but this is the case of a misfortune. anyway....the problem is that she bites too hard. How can I teach her bite inhibition? I really need help for the future of this rottweiler. help!!!since she no longer has mummy, you need to take that role, female dogs will growl and stare a pup in the eyes, then ignore it when it bites her, if it keeps going she will grab it's scruff(don't lift) , growl and gently shake pup untill it goes limp.
then if this doesn't work she will put it on it's back, and pinch it's stomach with her teeth
if you put pup on it's back DON'T let go untill pup has stopped thrashing around and is lying quite still, if you do let go too Early, you are teaching pup that it's stronger then you therefore it's boss
another way to stop biting Is to hold pups muzzle shut and growl n stare in the eyes, this worked really well for me but now my dogs unhappy about anything touching her mouthEvery time she bites you, make a quick, sharp, high-pitched squealing noise (like her siblings would when they play together). This should put her off. If it doesn't, every time she bites you, leave the room. Everybody leave the room. She wont like that and should learn that biting makes everyone go away : (
moog is right thats what you do with cats and dogs with that problem
