Why does my cat like to lay on top of things (such as clothes, paper, etc)?

-anytime there is something on the floor (or even couch, or bed)

she loves to lay on top of it. it's like having something to lay on makes her feel special?

is that it? a pampering thing?



it could be a sheet of paper, a t-shirt, your flip flop, anything and she loves to lay on top of it.LOL! I love cats, they are so fun. My three cats do this also and it is always funny to me and seeing your question made me laugh. A flip flop! I think they must love having something between them and the floor? My cats love to lay on the dirty/clean laundry. We were storing a few mattresses in their room for a while and they loved to perch on the very top (right by the ceiling.) They have also found blankets and hide under them while they sleep. Also very funny.Freshly washed clothes are a luxury to cats - they love Clean New smelling things.

As Far as any other objects/things go they love to claim them as their own things!! Ha!

They like to put their scent on everything new! They like to remind you that they are there!

Ultimately Cats are very very curious and love to investigate all new things in their domain!
I think every cat does stuff like that my cat loved laying in boxes that he could barely fit in haha & he always layed on backpacks its a cat thing I think haha
Cats will tend to lay on things that smell like their owner. My cats do this all the time.
