Can a beaver be domesticated and kept indoors as a pet?

-No. That would be like trying to keep a coyote or a wolf as a pet. Beavers are very wild and specialized in their environment needs, and would not do well in captivity. I don't even think zoos try to keep them. You would need to have a free flowing stream with plenty of disposable birch and aspen nearby, as well as some neighbors that don't mind flooding.No. That would be like trying to keep a coyote or a wolf as a pet. Common sense always warned me against Beavers as pets. What would you do with it? Even if you could catch it and contain it, there's a difference between a pet and a caged wild animal.
Domesticated, no. Kept as a pet, perhaps, especially if you have some wood furniture that needs some trimming.
Not unless you have a pool in your house. Water is a beaver's natural habitat.
