My cat doesnt like getting picked up!?

-My cat doesnt like being picked up or its tummy being touched or its back feet being touched. What do i do to make her not scratch me when i do those things!?She obviously is very sensitive, and maybe shes not used to being picked up. For every time you pick her up, I'd try giving her a treat, so she learns that being picked up is a good thing. Good luck! The tummy is a very vulnerable area, as that is where the disemboweling kick is done. And it is not unusual for a cat to not like their back feet being touched. So the easiest way to avoid being scratched is not to do those two things.

As far as not being picked up, think hard. Does being picked up precede a trip in the carrier to the vet? If so, that is what she associates being picked up with.

My oldest cat, very senior, is very affectionate on her terms, but don't try and pick her up. She knows what that usually means. And I accept that from her.
I had a kitten like that and it would scratch you if you tried to pet it. It was one of those indoor/outdoor cats, he would go out at night and come back to sleep in the morning. He eventually got over the petting issue as he got older and actually liked to be petted, but he was never fond of being picked up.
Many cats don't like being touched in certain places. It's not unusual. And the six toes thing is some rare gene. I don't think that it has anything to do with her not liking her feet being touched.
Don't do those things if she doesn't like them. Each pet has their own personality.
